Blue Tansy sometimes called Morocco Chamomile has a high content of chamazulene, which gives the oil its characteristic blue color. . Please remember this not the high Thujone Tanacetum Vulgare that grows wild in Utah and elsewhere and is often warned against for use in aromatherapy. This Annual Tansy is a safe and mild anti-inflammatory with a delightful fresh, honeyed apple scent.

CHARACTERISTICS: A deep blue liquid with a rich, sweet, apple-like herby fragrance. It blends well with Lemongrass, Rosemary, Helichrysum, Cypress, Pine, Chamomile .
THERAPEUTIC PROPERTIES: analgesic, antihistamine, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, hypotensive, nervine, sedative, vermifuge..
CONTRAINDICATIONS:Stains clothing. Blue Tansy oil has been purported to have some toxicity and should not be used directly on the skin. It is most effective in dilutions of 5% or less.
HERBAL/FOLK TRADITION: A blend of 3 drops of Helichrysum Italicum, 2 drops of Blue Tansey diluted in 5 ml. (1 teaspoon) vegetable oil (sesame oil or jojoba oil for example) for any situation where the skin has been damaged (sunburn, radiation etc). For external use, it displays the strongest effects when the maximum dilution is 5% or less.
Blend 10 drops Pine, 5 drops Cypress and 1 drop of Blue Tansey in a diffuser for emphysema and asthma. A couple of drops on a hankerchief can be used as an inhaler.
