CHARACTERISITICS Fresh-spicy top note and a sweet-balsamic undertone. It blends well with lavender, lavandin, rosemary, geranium, ylang ylang, citrus and spice oils.
THERAPEUTIC PROPERTIES: analgesic, anticonvulsant, antineuralgic, expectorant, antirheumatic, antiseptic, astringent, stimulant, tonic (for hair).
CONTRAINDICATIONS: Moderately toxic due to high eugenol content; a mucous membrane irritant - use in moderation. Unlike bay laurel, however, it does not appear to cause dermal irritation or sensitization.
